This book explains ancient meditation techniques and why they work from a medical point of view. For me this book was very interesting, because I’m always curious what the scientific reason behind anything is. If you are not, then this book might go into too much detail.
The Miracle of Mindfulness- Thich Nhat Hanh
This book explain in very simple words what mindfulness is and what effect it has on life. Almost all books of Thich Nhat Hanh are devoted to mindfulness, some of them even talk about mindfulness in certain areas of life, e.g. mindful eating. The Miracle of Mindfulness talks about mindfulness in general.
The Power of Now- Eckhart Tolle
This book was a real eye opener for me. In words that can be easily digested by someone that grew up in the west, Eckhart Tolle explains life, what mindfulness does, Meditation and enlightenment. This book has changed my meditation and helped me a lot.
